NEWS/UPDATES
Happy Spring! I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful spring weather, and that your allergies are being kinder to you than mine are! I’ve been so happy with my current office set up, outside on my beautiful deck (those trees are my view, and the source of my allergies). I like to take full advantage of this prime time when temperature is perfect and the bugs are not out in full force quite yet. I love working from home and being able to watch the kids and dogs play in the backyard while I design. Our family is looking forward to the last day of school, first dance recital, and a Florida gulf vacation over the next two months.
DID YOU KNOW?
Graphic designers work with basically two types of files, built with either Raster or Vector data. Both have their place in the design world.
1. Raster: These images compile data from a matrix of square areas of color. These tiny dots are called pixels. Raster images are dependent upon the resolution (size) that they were originally created. Meaning, if they’re blown up, the pixels will be visible and the image will look blurry. For example, this is how digital photographs are built. Raster files formats include JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and PSD.
2. Vector: These graphics are based on mathematical data, X and Y coordinates, points/lines/shapes. Vector files are NOT dependent upon any original size, they can scale as large as you’d like without becoming blurry. For example, this is how a logo should be built. Vector file formats include EPS, AI, SVG, and (usually) PDF.

Wise Words
“Graphic Designers take invisible ideas and make them tangible. That’s our job.” —Debbie Millman
TESTIMONIAL
“Gina is Amazing! I reached out to her with an idea of what I needed, but not really sure how I wanted to get from A to Z. Not only did she help so much on the creative side but she was able to walk me through everything professionally and systematically to make the entire process seem so simple. I 100% plan to work with her again in the future and would no doubt recommend giving her a shot to earn your work moving forward as well. Thanks again Gina!” —Josh
