I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! Our family loves the beach and we have beaches in 4 different states on our list to visit this summer— Florida (pictured), South Carolina, North Carolina, and Maryland. One of the things that I love most about my job is that I can easily take my laptop with me wherever I go. I enjoy hopping on my computer when I need a break from the sun to do some work for my clients to keep their business moving.

Another fun antidote of our family’s summer— the one thing my daughter wanted to do most this summer was go to art camp. Proud mama moment. Maybe we will have a third generation artist and graphic designer one day? (My Mom was a Creative Director for the Baltimore Sun newspaper back in the day, when it was all done by hand, no computers!)

Mood boards are one of the best ways to get inspiration for your design project! Compiling all of your inspiration for your project into one space— a collage of ideas. Simply put, create a Pinterest board of anything and everything that speaks to you in relation to the current project you’re tackling.

Mood boards can include visions for color, fonts, layout, content, style, theme, etc. These compilations are immeasurably helpful for the customer AND the designer!

Also, simple sketches from the client, no matter how “embarrassing,” are extremely helpful for designers. Don’t be scared to scribble for us, we love it!
